We’ve been working on the move for a couple of months now and we’re pretty happy with the final outcome! The new theme has been modified by our community members caledonianblues aka David Mitchell, together with Marcus Tuomi and Calle Gustafsson of Expansive Worlds.
The updated theme will probably be the main change for most of you, the functionality will remain pretty much the same, only a couple of new useful things will now become available.
Another important change that will come with the new forum is signatures. We’ve been pretty lenient in the past with signatures and didn’t enforce the strict following of guidelines. That’s changing now. Many of you may be annoyed by this and some may wish to debate it. It’s not open to negotiation. All signatures have been re-set, so you'll need to create a new one and make sure it aligns with the guidelines. Here are the rules which will be enforced from now on:
Signatures are limited to 6 lines of text, including blank lines, in case you don’t have a signature image. If you have an image in your signature, we allow 2 additional lines of text, including blank lines. The acceptable signature is 1 image, static or dynamically generated (e.g. theHunter score generator), with maximum dimensions are 85 x 960 px and maximum file size is 70KB.
Another thing that we’re going to be stricter about is meaningful posts. Posts like +1, +100 etc. will now be removed. Posts like this fill up the forum without adding anything meaningful to the discussion. If you want to express agreement with someone, please elaborate why.
Here is the reminder of our Code of Conduct, in a nutshell.
- Don't spam. We have a zero tolerance policy.
- Make quality posts. That means your posts should be meaningful = say something that adds value to the discussion, relevant = on topic and helpful, new – something that hasn’t already been said in the thread.
- No personal insults. Neither towards the devs / company nor other forum members. This is self explanatory.
- No religion or politics. These topics are not to be discussed ever – they start too many fights.
