would be pretty funny to get somebody into the team that shows a lot of negativity :P
yes marc, i have that problem as well (regarding stupid posts just slipping out of my mouth instead of being a proper mod...)

question:
why is caledonian blues browsing the mod forum right now? at least that is what the forum is telling me!?

Feedback on my work as a moderator is always welcome!

regarding new mods, some suggestions:

- L3M182: call me crazy, but the changes to his behavior are unbelievable...he is a pretty nice person if he behaves himself and wouldn't it be a nice "experiment" to see a former problem user as a fellow mod!?
- waiora
- BuiuRei
-DYEUZ
- \m/

Feedback on my work as a moderator is always welcome!

David has access because he was helping to work on the new forum. I'm not sure if that's still going to happen or not.
It's "Tod", with one bloody 'd'!

L3M182 and waiora would be poor choices imo. The other three probably wouldn't be too bad.
Am I doing a good job? I thrive on feedback! Please PM me, or my bosses Alena Rybik or Tod1d with comments, criticisms, or accolades!

Yes! Of course, unbelievable I didn't think of him before.
He is a cool guy from Germany, who happened to become a friend of mine over the last months. Just never thought of him as a mod. :D
My vote goes to him, hands down.

That is something to remember. That was a good call in the end and Alena stuck her neck out for him and I think it paid off. He's been transformed from what I remember when I first joined up. I've even sent him a pm or two commending him on his participation and he was very appreciative of it. I told him it was noticed and his participation added a lot to the discussions, which he did.

As for a suggestion, there is one guy I've always had in the back of my mind, ChrisMK72- He's a good dude, must be because he's German  ~ And Fletchette, well, he's on the beta team already, and he's online constantly. I asked him once what happened that he changed so drastically. I know I'm not the only one who noticed it, it was like a light switch from one day to the next. That was when he joined beta, we had a good laugh of it. I did tell him once I would nominate him if I had the chance for payback.
Other than Chris, I dunno, no one really stands out but you guys will get it done the way it needs to be just fine.

killertut wrote: 3) No Idea you had a rough year. I noticed that the management was kinda weird last year and that the releases of both new reserves (BRR and WRR) were kinda rushed. The personal differences weren't really noticible until you posted in the status update thread about the amount of guys that left ew. may i ask if it was just a chaotic phase internally or did avalanche and ew suffer financially and that caused the other turmoil?
Yes, of course, lay off are always a part of cost saving measures a company undertakes; to put it simple, there is no enough money in the company to pay all the hired staff and some people have to let go. EW arew a part of Avalanche and although we had a very good year in terms of revenue and profit, we had to suffer alongside our "big mother".
killertut wrote:5) a new mod? i would love to have fletchette on board, but he already declined once, right? no idea who could be a mod, need to look around in the live forum.
No, I don't think I asked him. I remember us discussing him as a candidate here, and someone pointed out that he could be quite inflammatory in his posts. He is an all-around cool dude and I am very fond of him personally, but I don't think he would make a good moderator.

Caledonianblues has pretty much the same issues ;) HooCairs has been approached and he rejected, because he has his hands full with the wiki, videos and supporting the community in every other possible way.

Tony? Hm, I'll need to have a think about this one :)

That sneaky caledonianblues :? He has had access to the forum because he was working on the new forum theme, and I must have forgotten to remove him. Will do!

One more thing: Please don't forget to document all your actions in Problem users forum. I understand that it can feel a bit cumbersome, but Hidden Threads are messy, things get lost there, we forget stuff and we need to have an eagle's eye on every single problem member (for when new moderators join or we need to take a decision what to do with some member).

Dennis wants to put the end to bug reports in the forum soon and have one dedicated channel for this (discussion of bugs in the forum will be allowed and even welcomed), so hopefully soon you'll have one fewer task to do. Until announced, please continue moderating bug forums and entering bugs into Mantis, thanks!

In your personal experience, what are the main things that have a negative impact on the quality of the game?

In your personal experience, what are the main things that have a negative impact on the quality of the game?
1) Any and all game stopping bugs (crashes, disconnects)
2) Bugs/design flaws that prevent the game from being played as designed/expected (missing or delayed stats, bait system, score estimating, collision detection/hit boxes, ...)
3) Performance (lag, horrendous/dismal download speeds for updates from website, "8 days to update bison tracking skill"??)
4) The website. (This may be#1 in the eyes of many players because it's the most visible). There are a lot of problems...
5) Non-critical bugs that have been around for months / years

There are a lot of things found in Beta that either don't get fixed, or reappear on live when released.
I've seen many comments from players who believe that we don't have any beta testing.
I've also seen many comments from players who refuse to enter bugs because they just get ignored.
It's "Tod", with one bloody 'd'!

a) rushed releases. patches not getting tested (the the last one with the duck and .303 isues). new reserves getting last minute patches that are not tested either because the reserve needs to be released.
