Community Lynx Thread- Tips, Help and Screen Shots

Post by TreeKiwi »

Hey all,

As promised, here is the official thread for the New Lynx.

Use this thread to:
  • Brainstorm together.
  • Share hunting tips and locations.
  • Show off those Lynx kills you do manage to get!
As a first tip, I would start by doing some ground work and trying to find the Lynx sign and calls and work out a hot spot map, if more people start sharing locations, this will greatly improve peoples chances at bagging some!

As a bonus:

First RARE Lynx to get posted in this thread gets 1000em!

*Edited bonus, The Lynx has a new animal interaction, first player to film it gets 2000em$!

Good luck all!

Not sure what is classed as a "rare" for these cats but I killed a grey one here.

I also got a grey one, I think they are similar to Bobcat in that case, don't think it's rare just a fur variation.

I'v found many tracks and killed 3 so far on the bottom left area on Hemmeldal so that seems to be the hotspot as of now.

I am a bit surprised about a Lynx being somewhat bigger than a bobcat but we aren't using any of the "obsolete" weapons. I mean this is a chance to give some of the weapons some love. (panther, 30-30, etc)

I just killed a 10.079 scoring Lynx 1st on LB at the moment.
Some reason it shows I hit it twice with the .243 Rifle but I only shot it once. :?

That Lynx is 10Kg heavier than the top Bobcat and over 5Kg heavier then the top Yote. Shouldn't ammo choice be same as Coyote rather Bobcat?

My First Lynx

Hi everyone.

This is my first lynx and here are the details:

Location: Hemmeldal (6100, -5351)
Date: 12/9/18
Time: 14.58
Animal: Lynx. Female. Grey
Weapon: .223 Semi
Organs: Right lung, stomach
Distance: 97.09m
Harvest value: 100%

I heard its call just a couple of minutes after leaving my tent. I put down some scent lure, retreated and waited. It wasn't long before she turned up and I did the business with the .223.

I hope this might be of help to my fellow hunters.

Great animal, congrats!

Yeah seems like non sequitur. FWIW I rationalize as Yotes are a nuisance species whose pelt is worth very little so everything should be ethical to use on them. However I would think Lynx pelts probably fetch a fair bit so we need to keep hide destruction to a minimum.
