Why are some pictures brighter and some darker? My, unfortunately, are always pretty dark ...

Rotate your player and the animal towards the sun and it will be brighter. And if the animal worth to take the trophy shot, make sure you shoot it in the sun, not in the shadows!

Sometimes shadows are good. Like in mid-day hours in WRR, for example. Lot of sun make shadows deeper, and contrasts bigger. So sometimes less of a sun is better. Especially, that in game we don't have to worry about sensor sensitivity and "grain" on ours photos. And of course, there are some filters one can choose from. But I rarely use them - prefer "natural" look.
