Did you also notice the spotting info? It said "195-260". I entered a bug report for it.

Awesome Sambar stag Hoo - and with a bow as well! Damn, I would have shot him on sight with my 45-70. The scent clearly affect their senses.HooCairs wrote:Thanks.DYEUZ wrote:Great video Hoo . Grats on that nice Sambar buck .

I've already reported the bug a while back Hoo, it's a bug that affects both sambar, water buffalos and rusa( I'm still not sure about Banteng, but hogs are ok).
Maybe add your video to the existing report here: http://forum.thehunter.com/viewtopic.php?f=130&t=85672

Yes Hoo, i saw the info , lol.
Also now know that they are called Stags vs. Bucks .
I tried it last night . Have a TS and tent about 60-70m from your location in the video. Figured it wouldn't be a big deal and would still see some Sambar .
Well, yes they were quick hunts , but seen zero animals there . Will try maybe longer hunts next time .
Villkatta ... Isn't the 45-70 too strong for the Samsars ?!

There is no such thing as "too strong for a sambar"DYEUZ wrote: Villkatta ... Isn't the 45-70 too strong for the Samsars ?!
No seriously, even with the .300 I often get crappy hits with it. And I don't like to carry many rifles on me at the same time.
The 45-70 is permitted for 4/5 of the species in the reserve, add a crossbow and a .44 and I'm all set for anything that shows up.
Back to topic, I went on a hunt last night with the scent, but I walked around and tracked/waited for calls all around the middle parts of the mountains.
It yielded very good results. Instead of crouching/crawling into position whenever I got a call, I sprayed and backed 30m away and the animals came to me.
Apart from a 299 stag, I took everything else with the crossbow, which I prefer. The 45-70 tend to be a bit...loud.
