A little update. It appears as though if I start at the tent in the video, there is no ambient sound at all as noted. However, if I start at a lodge or a different tent, there IS ambient sound. Weird one

I*ve also noticed that if you walk outside of the lodge area and into the forest. The ambient sound comes and goes as it wants it seems. Any more information would be great, coordinates for different areas without the ambient sound would be good to have when testing this. Thank you BucksNBuffalo for reporting!

I don't know if that's somehow connected to the issue mentioned here, but a lot of reserves (especially the new ones - WRR, TGT, PB) seem to have areas where ambient sound is rather loud while other areas are quiet. And sometimes the transitions aren't very smooth, so a few steps can make a loud ambient sound instantly turn to completely silence and vice versa. On WRR it's often the gusts of wind and the strange bird sounds that make a difference, on Piccabeen Bay it's the bugs and crickets or whatever that's supposed to be. I think the difference in sound level is definitely exaggerated.

Maybe you placed your tent in one of those areas that are completely sound-less?

No, not at all Marc. That tent was put there just a day or two after TgT's release. There was always sound there, and I've also been around long enough to know the differences between a new bug and long-time sound differences. I also know when to post as a bug report or not ;) Watch the vid. It is DEAD SILENT, with the exception of my own sounds (gun, walking, etc) and the sound of a wolf call. There's not even a little hint or very quiet sound of ambient noise, and there used to be. If it had been like this from the get-go, I'm sure many more people would have noticed this and also I would have said something back when TgT was released, as I have used that tent VERY often as one of the most productive areas in the reserve. I would definitely notice a change, and I have, which I have reported now.
