I have a new rifle.

Post by MooseHunter330 »

As you could have propably guessed, I am now the owner of a wonderful new bolt-action repeating rifle.

It's a Heym Model SR21 Super Classic. Caliber 8x57JS. This rifle locks in the barrel with 3 lugs enabling it to have a 60° opening angle.
The action is a push feed with a horizontally fluted bolt. The stock is straight and in the english style with a German cheekpiece.
It has an especially flat pistol grip with a steel grip cap held on by two screws. The stock ends in a red silver 1" butt pad.
The barrel has the special english contour with rear sight, sling swivel and front sight soldered onto the barrel with rings.
The front sight is a brass bead and the back sight is an express sight with a fine flip up notch.
The scope is a Swarovski Z8i 2-16x50 with 4A reticle mounted on a Heym pivot mount with (again) 3 lugs.
Finally, this beautiful piece of German craftsmanship is sighted in with 196 grain (12,6 gram) GECO Plus Bonded Soft Points.

But I don't want to bore you with details no more.
Here are some pictures:

Needless to say I worked some hours for this :)

Thanks, everyone! I hope to give it a try later today. Maybe I'll have something to post.

@Baloo: The rifle weighs 3.6kg, about 7.2 pounds. The straight stock does a ton in terms of recoil management.

That's a beautiful rifle! What wood is the stock made of?
