Bows & Crossbows | Longbow
Longbow
Traditional sightless longbow. Recommended for skilled hunters that want to experience the thrill of hunting like back when the wheel was considered high-tech. Note that this bow is made for hunting and that it should in no way be confused with an English Longbow made for war. While the warbows are allegedly powerful enough to crack armor the insane draw weight makes them inaccurate and impractical for hunting. Expect performance slightly lower than that of the Recurve.
See it here in the store.

This is the only bow I have yet to purchase. I plan on getting it, but, I'm going to wait a little longer.

Re: Bows & Crossbows | Longbow
I love my longbow. I always bring it with me on my hunts.
It's not as effective as the other bows, but I find it fun to use.
Its range is around 40 meters, and it does a bit more damage than the Parker Python.
My only problem with it is that one of the arrow fletchings goes inside the players hand.

Re: Bows & Crossbows | Longbow
The longbow and the recurve bow appear as twins to me in many aspects. They both have a learning curve, but when you fix on that sweet 25m range you will find yourself mastering these bows.
The recurve might be stronger over greater distances, but I barely go beyond 30m unless I am just happy to finally hit that trophy that I have been stalking, before it dashes.
Although they say you would never shoot a longbow tilted, I kinda like this because the wood is out of the way which facilitates the shots.

Average- was really good until the aim was changed. Will do the 250 and then put it away.

Was a nice bow until the aim was changed. Don't recommend it at all in its current state.

Before the changes I would've rated excellent, now I have to give it a poor. Shame, it was my favorite bow.

The Longbow is still the master bow in skill compared to the Recurve bow.
The new range it can shoot if you place the arrow head on the target is 40M
Trust me I know: http://forum.thehunter.com/viewtopic.ph ... robin+hood
Although I wouldn't reconmend shooting that far since the wind affects the Longbow alot more than other bows.
20-30M is fine.
Rated excellent!
I have over 1337 kills with my Longbow at 100% kill rate.
