Our goal isn't to complicate these competitions by limiting weapon options. If anything, it's to make people try some weapons they don't normally use. Yes, the Stutzen does have a better scope, but that hardly matters in a competition with no distance limitations.

So, just to clarify: does the Stutzen count as a classic rifle or not?

Yes it does; as long as it says "classic" under the gun name in the store then it will count (or if it's a re-skinned like Mel's or JaxyBeard's Stutzens)

This was (in my opinion) a mistake by the developers. Stutzens has a more comfortable optical sight, unlike other classic rifles. I would exclude it from the choice of weapons for competition.

There is an advantage for those who use the Stutzen for sure. Since there is no distant requirement, a competitor using it would have a better chance at shooting a comp animal in the heart or lung at a distance, I would think. The good thing is this comp takes place on WHI, lots of trees and such, which makes it a bit cumbersome to shoot things from a great distance.
