Forums always *used to be* the place to get the latest news and discussions... but then again, how many people here still have only one telephone, and it's attached to the wall with a cord? Like all forms of technology, it has advanced and there are now faster, more accessible, more efficient ways to let the greatest amount of people know of news and updates. Forums are no longer the "go to" places for the latest information- nor have they been for a while. I mean, if you look at your profile settings here, it still asks about your ICQ, Yahoo Messenger and Skype account names. All three of these once-very-popular forms of communication no longer even exist! :?

If you're worried about your data being sold, the easy solution is to always have a "junk" email address to use to sign up for things. Then, you get the benefit of using the new technology while the creeps that buy your data get junk. ;)
Me, I don't have a cell phone, and have no desire to get one. You're still here, and so am I, and a bunch of others. So, forums are not dead. People have just got lazy. ;)

I didn't say forums are dead... just that they are quite outdated as a form of timely communication.

As far as you not having a cell phone, well... didn't you also just recently get indoor plumbing? ;)

It's probably the server issues, but I will say this. Every time I have hit one of the total harvests achievement goalposts, it has done that where it rattled off all my achievements in the next hunt and reset the day they were acquired to the day I got the total harvests achievement. Did you hit any of the total harvest achievements?

Nobody needs a Steam account to view anything on Steam. Log out and look. Everything is accessible to be viewed without an account.
The news and announcement section of these forums can be viewed by anyone. It does not demand an account to view that section.
Discord demands an account before it allows anyone to see anything at all that's on there.

A person's browsing and personal information isn't secured from a place like Discord by using a "junk" email address. That is also not accurate. That's not the point, either.
They have a free place to post info and announcements that's freely accessible to absolutely everyone that doesn't demand an account: Steam and here on these forums.
Cool, yeah, post those things on Discord. But post them here and on Steam too. It's not that difficult to create an announcement message and copy/paste it.

Nobody should be left in the dark as they're doing. The longest term fans and users for theHunter:Classic are here on these forums.

Anyway. I'd prefer this topic stay on the subject I started it asking about.

Yes, I agree on both. No-one should be left in the dark, and yes- let's stay on topic. ;)

I'm guessing it's a connection issue between the game server and the host that's storing the info that's on thehunter.com

Last time I hit one of these was about 10 years ago...
I had the correct dates up to October 2013.

Nobody has data that's of any harm to a persons privacy or personal security if a person wisely chooses to avoid places like Discord and Facebook and doesn't share any personal information anywhere that doesn't absolutely need it.

ISPs (and any company or business) I've been with for the past 30+ years have obviously not shared my personal information. I don't get any nonsense postal mail, I almost never get any spam emails (to email addresses I wisely don't share anywhere that might share or sell it), when I search my name online even on sites like TruthFinder I don't find ME I find other people that happen to have the same name. Therefore your claim that "any ISP also sells data, pretty much everything sells data [it's] unavoidable" is not accurate.
