The HV ammo does drop animals at close range and is certainly good for the K9s, cats, and the other small animals that are allowed to be harvested with it. But HP ammo for the distance shots, they never run far after being hit. With the HV you can certainly hit them at a distance, but, they don't drop quite like they do with the HP ammo at the same range. Great gun.

I believe you have misread the title. You are talking about the scout steyr. This is the 7mm stambecco.

My bad! I won't take back what I said about the 7mm-08 tho'. Yes, the break action 7mm stambecco is also a rifle one should have in their gun cabinet. It to goes the distance too- and does what the 7mm-08 doesn't do.

No worries! Indeed the scout is good too and more versatile but if were going by the looks then the stambecco is a clear winner in my books!
