How did your season go?

Post by LittleDeer »

I find it a shame that not much is being posted in this topic, anyone have any stories or photos from the previous seasons? I've been shooting a handful of roe deer over the last few months I've taken five now since the start of this year a button buck, a hard antlered buck and a abnormal velvet buck plus two does, all were taken with a .222 50g sako gameheads with a suppressor.

One thing I'm guilty for sometimes I'm great for photos, other times I'm not some deer I take many photos of and others I have hardly even one or in some cases I just dont even pull my phone out and I only take a photo once its home, kind of the only issue with UK style hunting It is quick and effective no sitting around the harvest for 20-30 minutes taking in everything soon as we shot these deer we were on our way home (or) looking for more.

The roe are starting to moult into there summer coats, and especially at the tail end of winter right as we get into spring the mites become pretty bad too (usually drop with there summer coat) but It makes them look pretty shaggy, I would consider pre-rut to be about two months from this post, but the true rut is late July into august, either way we've already watched bucks chasing and fighting establishing territories.
