No, you don't care. You literally just said "it's nothing to worry about." Please stop saying "I do" when you don't and "I'm not" when you are: find someone else to gaslight. What's your in-game name?

A false report from McAfee or a phishing scam can simply just be ignored. It is nothing to worry about. All a person has to do is ignore the email.

Report it to fandom if you've received phishing scam emails from there and you're positive it's from there. Nobody here can do anything about that.
You're right that that is something fandom should care for.

You know, there are ways not to see any ads whatsoever.
Just saying...

True. But those options don't correct what JimboCrow is addressing which is something only fandom can and should do something about.
Fandom is the only entity that can do anything about email addresses on Fandom getting phished.
Maybe Fandom doesn't know they've been breached.

Yes. As I've been saying for years. The wiki on fandom is flooded with ads and is almost useless. That's not a proper wiki when you can't click on anything because ads cover nearly every inch of the screen. That's shady and is a disservice to us as users.

Sounds like what McAfee is known for: False report nonsense.
Time to get a better anti-virus. Try AVG's free version.
Yes, the scam is the famous false report phishing attempt meant to fool real McAfee users. I don't use McAfee, and like you I recommend that no one else does either: it's junkware. But fandom.com needs to clean up their site or suffer the consequences. The experience has been ruined and that's why I think the wiki should be moved.
Yep yep yep. Indeed the wiki should be moved to proper wiki that is usable, professional, and not flooding it's users with ads.

Move it to where? And are you willing to do 10+ years of work twice? That's what you and JimboCrow are suggesting to do with no suggestion of where to move it to.

Everyone everywhere has the option of using a secure, ad-free browser like Brave or Opera GX (to name and link 2 of hundreds that are out there).
If you're seeing a ton of ads and getting phishing scams in the browser you're using that is because of the browser you're using.

There are zero ads seen on this game's fandom wiki using the browsers I suggested above.
Give one of them a try.

A follow-up to my comments on the wiki and its ads: I have found that if I do not bother to remove the bottom corner ads (using the "X" or 'close button') I am able to use the wiki without interruptions from the McAfee phishing attempts. This is satisfactory for me. It seems trying to remove the ads, which I was always able to do without consequence, is now a license for harmful ads to attempt to spoof the user. By not closing the corner ads I can use the wiki as the wonderful resource it is. If you are experiencing the same phishing ad attacks, simply do not close the corner ads; no need to switch to a different browser which will disable functionality you need on other sites more important than for leisure.

That's besides the point. I've always said that the wiki site is shady with all the ads covering up the screen. The onus is either on the fandom site to stop this unacceptable practice of flooding users with ads, or for the game company to host a real wiki that is professional and user friendly. I'm not willing to jump through hoops to make the wiki run right for me because that should not be my onus to do that as a customer. Yes I know people have suggestions to make ads go away. I stand by my first point I've always said about this issue. Plus, I avoid using browser extensions because they present their own security risks. Sure, I know some of you will 'justify' this stuff, "download the extension". I don't justify unacceptable things that have become "normal". In my mind there is no "justification". Things are either acceptable or unacceptable to me. There's no argument with me and I'm not interested in arguing.

Everyone is of course welcome to make their own choices and have their own opinion as well as everyone is free and welcome to submit complaints and requests.
Fandom isn't going to remove ads they profit from and EW pretty obviously hasn't approved it in their budget for this game to have even just a domain for the wiki or we'd still have the custom thehunter.wiki.com web address for it. If it's not approved to have a domain it's not going to get approved to pay for hosting and a domain.

There are options out there to stop the ads. A person's choice of refusing to use an ad-blocker is not something someone else, especially not a profiting company, is going to do killing their profits to please a handful of people when there's billions of other people who choose the latter and solve the ad annoyance for themselves by using an ad-blocker.
Your complaint's cause is due to your own choice(s).

I don't suggest you hold your breath expecting the changes you want to happen.
