I'm working on a new hunting career within this RPG system. That means all the weapons, equipment, and items I own within this game I can only now obtain through finding them as 'loot' along the way in my hunting adventures. I've worked out a way to expand my looting possibilies via a 'tier system. There's regular loot, which tend to be lower to averatge value items. Then there's higher tier item loot I get at the end once I've completed all my checkpoint objectives on a map. I then use the looting mechanic on a 'treasure loot' table(s) to have the chance to gain extra rewards for completeing my missions and successfully doing so without spooking animals. So there's a harsh penalty for spooking an enemy animal (game over and losing all loot gained from a particular reserve), and there's an extra reward also for succesfully not spooking any animals at all. This is in addition to the default reward for simply completing the mission checkpoints.
Long story short, I have a round of 'treasure looting' at the end of completing all my checkpoints that I get to loot treasure for each category of items, (high performance weapons, callers for other animals that aren't on current map, and anything else of special value.) In this way, I can advance my total big inventory through a special looting system. Over time, through completing these hunts sucessfully, I can grow my inventory and expand a hunting career moving onto new maps as I collect new weapons and equipment. By having these 'treasure loots', I'm not confined to everything that normally appears as loot on a specific map. I can find things (as a reward later as treasure), that will help me across the game. Of course there are times I want to play with all my favorite high value weapons I'm used to normally using. I can't. I have to earn those weapons. I started this adventure with the most primative weapons in the game. I don't get access to everything I normally have. I have to collect those items through the 'looting system' gradually over time. Or, I can find those items as treasure later after successfully completing my missions. Even then, I don't automatically get those items. There's a loot table. The dice roll still deturmines what I'll get from the list of items on the loot tables.
So far this has been enjoyable. It gives me a new way of obtaining items, pushes me to play the game in a much more challenging and rewarding way.

By the way, I spent 12 hours total putting all the content together for this post including editing, especially editing, to present an idea that I created enjoy myself, and that is clear for anyone to understand who may appreciate an interesting way to experience this game.
