Re: It Can't be Normal
There should be 70-80 elk on RFF. ~25-30 males, 45-50 females.
Here's one hunt male score distribution.
402 358 336 325 325 282 218 211 209 195 190 189 188 183 178 172 171 165 123 115 113 89 69 68 67 46
I'll try to get a few more hunts, but as you can imagine it takes some time to get them all.

That's what's on the map or that you killed? If it's on the map it proves my point. Only 5 mature bulls on that list. Look how many young bulls are there. There should be more mature because they live to 10 years old. Only so many young ones are born each year and they don't all survive.
We never get the real young bulls for RME but a lot of mature bulls can be killed. The Roosevelt elk should be the same.

Re: It Can't be Normal
Same comp and this was todays hunt. 159, 186, 169, 279, 231, and I had 6 more in my sights but couldn't kill anymore young bulls.
Along with not killing cows I may add not shooting younger bulls too to my personal rules. I almost get sick to my stomach killing them.
At least i'll be saving ammo.

That's 26 bulls and what he said the map holds. I'm sure that wasn't his hunt. I shouldn't have asked that. I don't think anybody can kill every bull on the map on one hunt. Cripes, where is that 402??Mrmr123 wrote:Thats amazing!Tod1d wrote:There should be 70-80 elk on RFF. ~25-30 males, 45-50 females.

Expect RFF animal spawning follows exact same as other reserves in the game i.e. a normal distribution curve from low to high score.CaplockHunter wrote:That's what's on the map or that you killed? Hunted RFF earlier just one area so didn't cover usual amount of ground. Had 5 bulls over 330 https://www.thehunter.com/#profile/ogru ... /107663977
More animals you see per game better your chance of one being a trophy or a rare. If your after a big one better to look at it as a tracking game instead of a hunting game and track down the bigger animals.

Don't the mature bulls call? I don't think any bull that called that I didn't end up killing.
Tracking is tough for me because I have them turned off. I've never seen a blue dome out in the mountains.

Re: It Can't be Normal
I don't complain about not finding the biggest bull. I don't enter comps to win. That doesn't matter to me. I join just for the competition. To be part of it and put a little more meaning on the hunt. If I could delete the trophy's I would. In real life hunting i've never taxi'd an animal. I'd rather use the money to buy another gun to play with.
What i'm complaining about are so many young bulls on RFF.

They will follow the same distribution as the other reserves for animal sizes on spawning.CaplockHunter wrote:I don't complain about not finding the biggest bull. I don't enter comps to win.
