Re: Happy 10th birthday to the forums!
10 years. WOW. I was just telling some relatives about this game on Thanksgiving. A couple were familiar with it already (I got my Nephews Son into it about 5 years ago). I really got some strange looks from the older fellas when I said how much money I had wrapped up in it. Even when I broke it down to how much per year or per hour, they only heard the total $$ amount.

I'd like to think that there is something special in store for the anniversary, but I won't hold my breath. With some of the most recent developments, I wonder if there were resources left for a big release of any sort.

sounds awesome, a little bit of history from this game in this topic, I still remember when Lion used to do status updates and I was really sad to see him go, I wonder how is he doing today.Tony wrote:I guess we had at least a limited number of public users 10 years ago as I do remember that the request for a forum was urgent to improve communication - and I had it up and running in a few hours after a quick check of what forum software was available at the time. I was mostly responsible for sysadmining the original game servers for Emote Games who had a team that developed the server software with Avalanche responsible for the pc game client software.Jhon wrote:As far as I know you are correct, the game was in a test stage since november 2008 (correct me if I'm wrong) before beeing released to public
I handed over the original forum admin account along with the servers to Avalanche when they took over the running of the game, they were kind enough to leave this account alive as a regular user.
Also really awesome is to see so much old players here in this topic, my first step into the WHI to hunt some mule deer was in September 2009, only a year later I found out about the forum

Hey David,
glad to see you still watching, and it looks like you got tired of snow
Got to be a bit hot for you most of the time though

The above statements are strictly my opinion, and should not be taken as fact, even if I believe them to be true.
