My Haunted Wolf Comp Story

Post by BearJohnson »

Having plenty of wolf practice, I jumped at this comp!
Two hunts from start of comp left me at 5th place.
40 hours of play...
39 wolves harvested.
1917.52 Kg in meat.
(and an albino muley doe)

But after 40 hours I had to crash - sleep won over a GREAT game, a GREAT comp, and my insomnia.

I woke up in 12th place. I decided to start a new hunt with 3 hours left in the comp.
I bought a PILE of bolts for my crossbow - expecting to use them all.
To regain my position in the top 10 at least - convinced I would get em$ for my trouble.
I hunted hard for that 3 hours.
I only to harvest 4 more wolves adding only 178.79 kg to my total.
It seems, in previous hunts, I shot EVERY wolf in the reserve that was travelling in a straight line.
Every wolf I saw in the last hunt was moving in circles - stopping only to pause briefly then continue circling - like they had some brain disease that affected their balance.

Still 12th place out of 372 registered competitors is not bad for a noob.
In my humble opinion!

LOL!

Next comp is Haunted Sheep?
No way to call or lure them in.
.308 pistol only?
In this limited view?
Not for me!

I will continue my hunt in TgT because I have a total purse of 275 em$ available to me in 3 comps - elk, wolf, and muley doe.
I still have ALOT of crossbow bolts to shoot!
and maybe a great big huge WW.
I may be a noob... but I still have fun!
Trigger time = FUN!
