Took a break, Steam Question [Buying em$: Steam vs theHunter site]
I've been gone for like 6 months, just coming back and buying up all the new guns. Does it still matter if I buy EM on TheHunter website or steam? I seem to remember It was better to buy stuff on thehunter site then play on steam for some reason.
Thanks,
CH

I buy trough steam, now the difference to my knowledge is that you can buy ems to give as gift on the website and maybe the "normal launcher" but not trough steam launcher, other than that is a convenience of the user.

Thanks, was thinking the devs lost a % of $$ when purchased via steam but maybe that's wrong.

They do indeed. The revenue share with Steam is 30%.Crazyhorse wrote:Thanks, was thinking the devs lost a % of $$ when purchased via steam but maybe that's wrong.

As a Swede, at least, it's better to buy through the website. I play through Steam but if I'd like to buy Ems it would be with Euro with Steam. The website charges the same amount but in USD instead. And dollars are cheaper than Euros for us.

I never really thought about Steam taking their cut. I will also be buying direct in future.
Cheers for the info

I always buy via steam. But if the Devs lose money they should make it more appealing to buy via the site.
