Flags: A list for Usage

Post by rhapsodaisical »

Edit: My original question was how to use these and if there was a colour code for a uniform range indication.
Many responded with marvellous ways of using Flags/markers. Submit any idea to add to the list.

How to use Flags
  • Setting up hunting routes/trails
To create vectors/areas per hunter if in Blind
To mark connecting travel routes such as Timbergold Trails/Piccabeen railways
To mark a good spot for a future Deployable
    Marking natural vista (hunting spot)
    Mapping Burrows
To point out the crossing points of the river

I once read about a color code that was used in connection with flags... or something similar. But I don't think it was family friendly, so I can't post it here! :P

On a serious note: There are two ways I'm using the flags. I have three pairs on TGT that show me the connections of the train tunnels on the map. And sometimes I use them to set up a certain distance from a tower or stand for competitions that have rather strict distance requirements. In this case I try to use a color that's easy to see from further away.

I put flags all over TgT to indicate where a carcass might have spawned. And it doesn't even look that busy on the huntermate, since they're all black :>

I dont use them at all. I have yet to think of a reason to justify buying them.

I plan to get some to mark good positions where a blind or tree stand is not necessary/applicable, like in mountains. Once they are on sale, I'll take few definitely, but I haven't see flags on sale this year yet.

I'm in this camp right now.

There are a couple interesting uses mentioned above, but I'm still spending too much on buying "necessities" in my early stages.
