Wolves ruined Rocky Mountain Elk A.I?

Post by Ravenousfox »

I'm currently on Timbergold Trails and to my surprise I've come across 4 male Rocky Mountain Elk tracks in a row that were bugged.
I ran after each track and they were all glitched being that the track time kept on going up and up, impossible to catch up.
I've noticed a lot of Wolf chasing tracks near the Rocky Mountain Elk tracks so are they the cause to this?
I have over 1337 kills with my Longbow at 100% kill rate.

Make that 6 tracks in one hunt so far that I've found with track time keep going up.

The bug that you are experiencing is independent of the wolves. Animals show a roaming track that is usually in a perfect straight line, and the time estimation is always about the same. It is impossible to catch with these animals.

The bug was apparently fixed in a recent game update, but the next day I reported back to EW that the bug is still there.

The wolves in the area is a different issue. They cause elk to not come to calls because they are chased away some times.

I agree with HooCairs.
Mostly I have experienced this bug on RFF when hunting Black Bear and I was really happy when EW released the fix, but it's still here.
Please don't blame our wolves in this case :) :P

Thanks for clarifying HooCairs.
Seems strange to me how TGT has the most bugged tracks I've seen in any map!
I've come across 7 or so now in this one hunt. :|

TGT is quickly becoming the most frustrating map I've hunted on...

With the constent Ptarmigan flapping noise
+ slow load bug on inventory & map
+ track bugs
+ constent Crow cawing
+ Wolves chaing away my Elk
+ Annoying sound of the Wolf caller
+ Wolves sound exactly the same as Coonhounds licking their chops.

Just to be clear, these are not bugs specific to Timbergold Trails.

Progress has been made with the slow loading inventory and map issue. Testing is in progress.

You are forgetting the ever busy bighorn sheep being the most difficult animal to hunt in the entire game. ;)

The Bighorn just need a population boost, big time. The only thing that makes them difficult is that there are so few in such a large area. When they were released, I used to see good sized groups of them, nice mixed herds of sometimes 5-7. Nowadays, if I see a group it's usually only a couple. Of course tho, there are Ptarmigans everywhere. Yay.
