Taxidermize is definitely not a word lol. Was waiting on someone to bring it up.

It's not a Swedish word, it's an English word. You linked to an archive which contains scans of a dictionary that might be decades old. Dictionaries are updated numerous times per year and new words are added.

I think it's a strange word, I agree, but it's in the English dictionary.

It is a word, tho not commonly used especially when it comes to taxidermy. That's why we're getting messed up and finding it funny. The way it's usually put when talking about trophy animals is normally "get it mounted", with mount meaning the taxidermy. To use in sentences that are far more familar with hunters and fishermen,

That's a great trophy, gonna get it mounted?

David has many a trophy mount.

Would you like to mount this trophy? (;) )

I wonder how much it will be to mount this Bighorn?

Just a few examples. Even in fishing, it's known as a skin mount (using the real fish's skin) and there is also a replica mount (using a picture and measurements of the fish, fish released)

I have never once heard anyone say "I'm gonna go have my bear taxidermized". Or "David has many taxidermized trophies". You see what we are saying here? I almost think that, while not high priority, maybe a word change is in order, and just change "taxidermize" to "mount". It's the proper hunting/fishing term used to describe the procedure. Tho, I wouldn't imagine an word change would be TOO taxing and difficult.
