First Time For Everything

Post by youngbucoholic »

Hello,

Was hunting LP and shot a WT doe from 10 meters. Instead of dropping her, she stayed right there leaned over and slowly(slow motion) laid down and didn't die, i quickly shot her again to end suffering and then she passed. Curious has any one else seen that? i did hit her spinal cord and it was really realistic like her legs went limp and was paralyzed. Using Parker.

Good Hunting

Yeah if you hit their spinal cord they get paralyzed.
They will go down and when you go close to them you can see they look at you and are still alive. They will bleed out but it's best to shoot them dead asap because it's a bit creepy when they lie down and look at you while paralyzed..

Yep, it happens all the time. Some of the animals will even limp if you hit them in a leg.

Sounds like a normal spine shot to me, only the slow motion may or may not happen, depending on how they are standing and what the terrain is like, I suppose.

Has happened to me many times. Always seems to be the "Spine 3" bone specifically that triggers paralysis in my experience.

yes if you get good at shooting the area you can do it often.

one of my friends used to shoot brown bears in spine.

I used to take spine shots from above using parker bow in the treestand long before they tweaked the bows, especially on moose and sometimes on bears mostly when I had no clear shot to take the heart or an instant kill. They go down, paralyzed, easily without any noise or spooking other animals around them. Kinda brutal though, I know...

have the ragdoll physics been tweaked lately?. animal do seem to by getting paralyzed and out right dying animations that look way better in recent weeks. ive double lung and heart shot a few moose in the last week or so with the snakebite and it really seems to dump them down hard. much like 400kg of meat and bone should do when the legs go from under it. deer still seem to do the freeze and role thing a bit. but its getting better. coincidence for me or is anyone else spotted this?

this look familiar?
