Is climbing gear getting used each time I climb? Or is it enough to set it once on a wall and forever it will stay?

Essential is to have a set of callers for the prey you intend to hunt.
Lure spray I have a full set - and never saw the need to use it. Not needed.
Then to have an ethical weapon for all species you want to hunt. You can find solutions that are specialised, needing you to buy more weapons, and "generalists" that allow you to use them for more purposes. With arrow weapons you obviously can hunt everthying. Whether that is always recommendable, is something different.
You can buy plenty of cosmetic things, amongst them clothing with and without functionality. Decide that not by function, but your desire for immersion. If you feel immersed in the game and like it, buy it. If you do not care, don't buy. Needing these clothes you do not, and their effects often are either overestimated or not correctly understood. I do not care for the functionality of clothing anymore, and buy and wear for immersion exclusively.
If you like to start a match in a reserve from a special location, placing a tent there is helpful.
Groundblinds are recommendable for hunting turkey, treestands when hunting coyotes or turkey, and tripods when hunting rabbits. These are the only opportunities I really find them helpful, and use them.
Baiting bears and hogs I find pretty much expensive, but pointless. I just do not feel I must do it. I get my bears and hogs even without that.
Test the plenty and expensive equipment needed for hunting geese and mallards, share a multiplayer session where the host is offering that. This kind of gameplay is not for everybody, many people find it too expensiove and too boring. Do invest into such stuff before having tested it and found that you like it.
Medikits are useful especially in the Alpine region (falling down a cliff), and (rarely) when getting attacked.
Ropes obviously have their purpose in the alpine region as well.

Once in a blue moon, they offer a weapon (Single Shot Shotgun) for GM$ so I reserve about 6-10K for that. But as others have posted I use it on First Aid (for VDB), camping supplies, scent elim, bait, ropes, dog treats, etc.

The Single Shot Shotgun is permanently available in the store for 6299 gm$. OP already has it.Alphamale1956 wrote:Once in a blue moon, they offer a weapon (Single Shot Shotgun) for GM$ so I reserve about 6-10K for that.
