Agree with steve.

Some of my best white tails were taken walking north from the southern lodge around the small lakes area.

do you guys find even tracking whitetail harder than tracking other animals? i tend to lose trail quite often. do they make tight turns or i'm just not WT compatible?

It is very true the Big WT in this game is a whole lot harder than A MD , and that is very realistic as it is in real hunting of the two deer.

The dev’s have did a real great job on programming the MD and WT
In Canada A mule deer tag is on draw and it can take anywhere from 2 years to 5 to get drawn for a MD buck tag.
White tail bucks in Alberta I can just buy a tag.
The reasons behind this if every hunter could buy A Buck MD tag there would be a slaughter on MD bucks and soon you would have no trophy’s MD left they are really dumb compared to a WT.

And another reason is the terrain they hang out in is very open , compared to the wise old trophy WT buck that will hang out in the most impassable areas he can find.

In fact if it wasn’t for the rut and the overwhelming need to breed that brings them out into harms way it would be next to imposable to shoot a B&C WT.

Quest players be aware this is a sneak attack on you to get you to sign up for the whole game , once you experience hunting WT & Elk you will be hooked.
;) 8-) And that my friends IMHO will be the best money you ever spend. :D

Golly, I get one every year IRL
But, yes, they are elusive. Fortunately, my cousin is an incredible hunter, and can put me on a buck in a few hours.
I love hunting them in the game. By the time you think;"maybe I should be crawling"..they're gone.
All free hunters...crouch at all times, if you are lucky enough to have one call, work your way downwind and crawl when you get into "eyeball" range.

Just finished my first hunt aswell :) Not a bad day at all with this free weekend :D

The first WT i ran into was an albino. My first of course :P And later on the same hunt, i got two bucks within 5 min (100m) of each other. And I placed fifth in the leaderboard with that one ! Thats new to me :)

Don't know how to link the gallery, but there are images in there in case anyone is curious :)

5 Females (1 albino)
4 Males (Place 5 at leaderboard)

(Can anyone tell how to post images taken with the camera ?)

Are you saying you shoot a 170 BC whitetail ever year :?:  If you do you would be the most successful hunter in the world . ;)
The facts are only about 1% or 2 % of all hunters world wide shot ONE 170 BC or better whitetail in there life time.

Now I know you are just saying you shoot a WT buck ever year not monster WT
I do also but in thirty plus years of hunting WT I have only one deer that when over 170 BC a half dozen from 160 to 168 and a lot in the 150 class.
