stancomputerhunter, I have the same issue and I have found a way to "fix" it as clearing the cache does not work for me: Change the language (keep this language), the link in the Status Update should work and you should also find the hat in the store without using the link. After that, change back your language.
Note by changing back to your language will not add the hat in the store and the link will be still broken.

I only have one language...English. Edit: So, I went to settings, account, and change the language to Dutch. After I closed that screen, nothing changed...still English and still no Ushanka in the store.
Edit: I tried for German, since I know what Achtung! means Holy moly, it worked. The Pelz gefüttert Hut showed up in the store, and I bought it!! Wow!

It does not matter if you don't understand the language, there is only one button to buy it, you can't make a mistake. Just change the language (be sure that the site is not in english) and click on the Alena's link in the Status Update (it should work) and buy it. Then, change it back in English.
