Server Outage

Hello Hunters,

As many of you experienced, theHunter suffered from some major technical issues during the weekend, making the game pretty much unplayable.

We sincerely want to apologize for this and also offer all our members a 3 day extension of their memberships.
On top of that we will, of course, repeat the free species weekend in a not too distant future.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday is prime time for theHunter and most of our focus goes into creating something special for you to enjoy during your weekends and as per usual this weekend was not an exception. We were excited to offer all players the free species hunt and were happy to see that many of you invited your friends to come try the game. And that makes the technical issues even more devastating as we really looked forward to this weekend as much as you!

As you know we have worked hard on moving our servers in order to support higher traffic and demand in the game.
Unfortunately this time around it seems that something else spoilt the party for everyone.

Our servers sadly fell victim to scripting attacks that were responsible for drastic spikes in traffic which led to outages in service.
Emil, one of our back-end programmers, was able to jump on the issue during the weekend and on Sunday he created a fix that prevented any further attacks.

While the incident took a hefty bite on performance and service for all players, no other areas were compromised.
Your data remains untouched and safe.

At this point in time we don’t know more but we continue investigating the matter and will see what necessary steps we need to take in order to prevent this from happening again - our main priority is always to have the game up and running and to make sure your data is safe.

The free species hunt will continue until Wednesday morning 10:00 (CEST) and we will let you know when we will have another repeat of the event.
