Status Update - 6th April 2011
It's time for some Black Bear in today's Status Update!
The Black Bear will be introduced in the new environment coming by the end of this month.
As discussed in the community, the bear will also have an aggressive behavior, although rare. Rest assured, just wandering the woods will not have bears attacking you out of nowhere. On the other hand a wounded bear would not be safe to approach. If actually being attacked by a bear you will restart at the lodge, unless you carry a first aid kit, then you would be able to recover and continue.
Another special thing with the bear is that shot placement will be more critical than ever. Shoulder, hip and head bones are heavy on the black bear making shot placement critical, especially for bowhunting.
In addition to the typical Black Bear we will also include a couple of color variations. Score is measued by width and length of the skull. Bears (and their skull) is dynamically scaled in different proportions in the game to provide a variety of sizes.
Finally, here are some screenshots.
All screenshots available in higher resolution here for download.
Some other stuff...
Next Thursday, 19-21 GMT, Lion will be on GamerFM. Make sure to tune in, there will be stuff to win.
We also scored a nice review at N4G/ZTGD, check it out. Good stuff to get the word out about the game.
Heads up on Renegade Ops, an XBLA, PSN and PC game just announced by our parent company Avalanche Studios together with SEGA. Read some more here. Out later this year.
Until next week... happy hunting!

Nice to see the fur looks more roughed up and good to see what appears to be community influences on the effects of an attack.
