I shot this albino grey wolf (14.843) today while I was hunting elk. There was much of luck because I wasn’t prepared for wolfs actually
I carried only .45-70 lever-action and 12 gauge with slugs. I saw this wolf was after the elk I was tracking too. Luckily I had forgotten .44 revolver with scope in my backpack from the last hunt. I changed 12 ga for that because I didn’t want to try my luck with open sights since the distance was so long. I took the first shot with .44 and tried to aim for the head because the wolf was going straight away from me. It hit but the wolf didn’t fall. Instead he tried to run but I took second shot so fast he barely had time to move and he fell on his tracks.
I wondered how the wolf glowed so bright in the sunlight when I first saw him. Still I didin’t guess he would be albino when I was shooting Have to say it was nice surprise since this is my first albino harvest
