Hi Andrés / Danny

Thanks in advance for your time.

  • If someone on the team (not necessarily your team, could be the art or animation team) has an idea, e.g. a new weapon or world item, how easy would it be for them to make that idea a reality and how often does it happen? In other words, are all new releases community-inspired, or does a lot of the inspiration for new items come from people within the organisation?
  • Having poured so much love and attention into building this incredible game, can you enjoy playing it as much as you enjoyed making it?
  • Have you ever had to sacrifice a feature you really didn't want to exclude in order to keep the game within budget, to meet a deadline, or perhaps due to limitations with the game engine?
  • Does it frustrate you that theHunter is a product of a business (with the ultimate goal of generating revenue and profit) which has overheads and financial responsibilities, and that the game cannot always head in the direction that the team (and often the community) would like?
  • If someone offered you unlimited funding and the chance to go it alone in the games industry, what sort of game would you develop (question goes to both of you separately)?

Thanks
David

My question: What are you guys working on at the moment? Is it new content (not necessarily to be mentioned exactly) or is there a period of more focus more bug fixing?

Good Morning/Evening guys :)

I have been waiting this for this so long, so i will have a lot of questions within questions, hope you don't mind...

I want to ask you first, lets assume that you guys are completely free with no bug fixing or a projects on your hand, just one mission to create A global Chat System with some basic features "nothing fancy" that makes it a little more useful than what we used to have, how much time do you think such project may take you to finish? a weak or two, or a month or two? again assuming you have nothing else to do.

And can this chat system be a "resource hungry" like the personal best? and is that the reason why you guys disabled our old chat system before creating better one?

Have you guys tried outsourcing "Freelancers" before for little projects that you don't have the time to do it your self? If i understand the priority of the "To-Do-List" correctly, then features which generate profit will naturally take the place of other features that has no profit attached to it. and thus you guys will always be busy with such projects, and the little ones will have very low chance of seeing the light at the current pace.

So if we take the chat system for example :) a small project, you don't have to do it your self, you can put an offer in any freelancing website, like what features you want, what language for it to be written in, budget, and time, etc. and offers will come to you from many freelancers for cheap prices,,, so you guys can keep working on bigger more important features and projects, and let freelancers take care of the small ones,,, this way some of the low priority features may get a chance to see the light. which will increase the happiness of your customers!

I understand that you guys as a programers and bug fixers will always be busy with something on your hand, but it would be very nice to see some balance of features that are being released and to be able to see one of those low priority projects released once a year :). like seeing pre-sets "classes" for the inventory, global chat system, and others!

Hi. Here are the questions.

1. Do you change a chanse of trophy animal spawning during new season? Let's say there is 1% chance for trophy roosevelt elk (400+) to spawn in RFF. Can it change to 0.9 or 1.1% in next season. Do you adjust (if adjust) such numbers every season?

2. Is it true that if you hunt for a long time in 1 reserve the chanses to meet trophy animal gets lower and it is better to look for that animal in other reserves.

3. Is it true that high scoring animal will go away from feeder/barrel first?

4. Which is the strongest sense of Alpine Ibex - vision, hearing or smell?

5. Which clothes do you choose to hunt Alpine Ibex?

6. How do decide it is good time to make a new season?

Thank you for you time.

Hi,

My question:
Game always run away from yourself when they hear the shot, it is not very real, never cross ahead of one or run forward...
It is a programming problem of difficult solution, or rather laziness in making the appropriate changes?

Thanks

Thanks for taking our questions.

What is the chance that thehunter game engine gets upgraded in the next year or so? The game is really beginning to show its age (render distance, rigid weather system, player avatar and animations, etc.).

Now that the game has 20 species and is pretty well rounded, will existing animals that have been out for awhile receive significant updates to animations, behavior, vocalizations etc? Whitetail deer are really bland and not true to life, bears need help, etc.

21 Questions from the serious to the ridiculous

1. Would it be feasible to add different seasons to the existing maps? This would not only alter appearance but also animal behavior and the
strategies to hunt them. E.g - Hirschfelden Rut, Post rut, Snow on ground, dead trees, animals less responsive to calls, feeding more etc

2. Season mode (Deer Hunter 5 had it and described it as "an expanded virtual season that allows players to manage their deer herds over many years with realistic genetics and deer growth.")
This means the map would have the possibility of the same animals seen on the previous hunt, return again and growing throughout the duration. Do you shoot that 120 Mule deer now or wait a few seasons?
Would this ever be possible to create a persistent game mode?

3. Would player created content ever be possible with the current server structure?

3b. If not, would it be possible to give players some minor map editing control over reserves to make them feel a bit more personal? Being able to fell a certain amount of trees, cutting down long grass to give a clearer view, planting different crops on
applicable maps etc.

4. Any thought on adding dedicated servers?

5. Possibility of adding a game lobby inside the game, enabling hosts to change maps without closing the server down.

6. What are the major obstacles preventing you from increasing the render distance? Are there any plans to increase it as technology
increases. What would this require?

7. Why are players still not allowed to erect stands on other players servers - what is still holding this back?
it was scraped is because it added a lot of technical problems to multiplayer that we did not have the resources to solve at that time.

8. Could we have the in-game missions actually being accessible IN-GAME? Think MMO quest journal ;)

9. Any chance of a few sneak peaks at your map editor? I find it better than pornography!

10. Which genius blamed a beaver for the treestand bug?

11. If you both could have one superpower for a day, what would it be and why?

12. Ever played any code-related pranks on your co workers?
Some ideas might be to program every 11th keystroke on their computer to play a loud sheep sound or configuring the mouse to move in the opposite direction intended

13. Ever been tempted to add anything "extra" in the code for your personal amusement?

15. Apple or Android?

16. A date with a supermodel or an entire day of playing your favorite video games?

17, Surrstromming - love or hate?

18. In theHunter office, who is the Boss and who's the clown?

19. Whats your favourite thing about working on theHunter?

20. What are you thinking about?

21. If someone was to be found in the office pants down and clutching only a warm apple pie, who would it be?

is a pictures gallery delete option planned ?
what caliber will be next weapon : small , medium , big , shotgun
is there a chance we'll see gators around someday
