With the community growing rapidly here at theHunter we know that a lot of non-gamers will be meeting some heavy internet users and so we thought it was time to give you a little lexicon for terms you might encounter:

AKA - Also known as
AFK - Away from keyboard
B - Back
BAK - Back at keyboard
BBL - Be back later
BRB - Be right back
BTW - By the way
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
FYI - For Your Information
GR&R - Grinning, running, and ducking
IIRC - If I Remember Correctly
IMO - In my opinion
IMHO - In my humble (or honest) opinion
IMNSHO - In my not-so-humble opinion
IMAO - In my arrogant opinion
IOW - In other words
IRL - In Real Life
KTHXBI - Okay Thank You Bye
LOL - Laughing Out Loud
LMAO - Laughing my ass off
NRN - No response necessary
OTOH - On the other hand
OMG - Oh My God or goodness
PLS - Please
PLX - Please
POV - Point Of View
PPL - People
RL - Real life
ROFL - Rolling On the Floor Laughing
ROFLMAO - Rolling On The Floor Laughing My Ass Off
THX - Thank You
TMI - Too Much Information
TTFN - Ta-Ta For Now
TTYL - Talk To You Later
TY - Thank You
TYVM - Thank You Very Much
WB - Welcome back
WTG - Way To Go!
YVW - You're Very Welcome
YW - You're Welcome

You may also come across the following terms, please note that the Management strongly discourages the use of l33t:

d00d - Dude
Epic - Large or Serious
Frag - To blow up, kill, blast into iddy biddy pieces
kthxbi - Okay, Thank you, Goodbye
leet/l33t/1337 - Leet or Elite, good
Lewt/13wt - Loot, treasure (do not confuse with Lute a medieval stringed instrument with it's origins in the Middle East)
llama/114m4 - Lame or Lamer (a person who is lame)
m@d/m4d - Mad as in insanely excellent
Noob/n00b/newb - Short for Newbie, a rookie player
Owned/ownd/pwnd - Owned, to have been beaten
plx - Please
roXX0r - to Rock, to be excellent
skillz/ski11z - Skills or abilities
suXX0r/sux - Sucks (is bad)
thx - Thanks
w00t - Yay

Or ^^ - Eyebrows up (much used with us lately)
For example in Thailand this "5555" means the same as lol or hahahhah & many others from there, i learned those from my Thai spouse.
