If it comes to me, well, I wouldn't mind such simulator. But I think this is not possible technically (to simulate all the skills needed, all the details in the environment one can use and so on). And for sure this would have to be a completely new title (with would never be developed becauce only person playing it would be me ), because I wouldn't want to make something like this with the Classic.InstinctiveArcher wrote:I don't necessarily want a true to life simulation. where hunting animals takes a lot of real time and real hunter experience,.. and you put your abilities one on one with the animal you're after.
and see how well everybody does with that, one or two animals in a week maybe?
I mean you guys do really want it as close to real life hunting as it can get don't you?
Or are you all forgetting this is a game only?
What's the point of a game when you can't shoot a few animals within a couple hours?
Simple.....No Fun!
By the way I had a great hunt last night! I played on the old map of WHI,....
now that was fun and a lot of shooting......................
WT & BT deer, Roosevelt Elk, Turkeys, Coyotes...........and they were all shoot-able!
I still didn't get no big trophies or rares though...........
I'm just thinking that having it somewhat accurate is ok. In this case, bears fleeing. I use the word realistic very loosely when I say that them fleeing would be more realistic then them just standing there every time you run up to 40 yards and then coming after you.
Of course I'm aware this is a game. And there are some limits to realism. I think that good game (set in real world's "universum") is "made" from realism, playability and immersion. Those three need to be carrefully balanced. In case of simulation type games, I think immersion and realism can be see as one feature, to much extend. So in this case this about a balancing between realism/immersion and playability. I guess this still quite personal matter for every player when there is too much of realism, hindering their's gameplay experience, and when game's become too "arcadish", killing the realism and immersion.
For me simply, bears as they were before, fits to this "too arcadish" variant. While as they are now, probably (for me personally only) is quite close to balance point between realism and playability.
I can understand, that not everyone is happy. I simply do not belong to those players.
