Re: Name that Rocky Mountains inspired reserve - Ideas and Suggestions
There is so much history in the Rocky Mountains Chief Joseph, Lewis and Clark, Gold and Copper mining. The Grand Tetons, The Fur Trapping trade. Jim Bridger, John Colter, Jedediah Smith and many more less known Mountain Men who named many of the peaks and passes in the area some stuck and others didn't. Based on the history of the area I submit the following.
Nez Perce Pass (Native American tribe of the Rockies)
Trois Tetons ( Name used by French Fur Trappers for Grand Tetons)
Beaver Creek
Wind River Valley
Never Summer Mountains ( Native American name for Rockies)
Dead Horse Pass
Colter's Hell ( area named after John Colter outside Yellowstone park near Stinkingwater River)
Yellow Knife River Valley
