I don't know if this has been mentioned before, your avatar can crawl, walk, run and crounch walk but where is the realy slow walk sneeking would be nice to be able to sneek standing up slowly.
And I think it is said before too bears, moose and elk scratching against trees not that uncomon for them to do.. Moose streching to eat new leaf buds. Coyote hunting, tracking rabits and folowing bloodtrails of wonded animals.
Bears in the shalow water hunting for fish and so ocupied by it they deffend its position toward you insted runing of (not charging toward you), just because you get a litle to close.
Same with all the pigs/hogs if you get to close or follow to intence they usualy turn around and do a charging warning if you don't back of they attack.. that would be cool
Hunt with your head not with your itchy trigger finger.. and things probably turn out a lot more successful and fun ;)

when you press T in-game to do a thumbs up or wave, there should be a flip-off option. most of the time, I hunt with great people. once in a while, we all have to deal with a ******.

-or-

if you're stalking a buck / bull and you get busted by a female, you can flip her off as they are running away.

Make the spooking as realistic as possible.

Currently they look as if they are just waiting for an opportunity to flee like crazy.

I think TheHunter needs more random action. Like in RL you can rarely spot a small game about 200 meters away. Small game hunting should be more close range shooting near brushes an thick grass. I think the animals flee too easy compared to the RL. It's so stupid to crouch in open field when hunting pheasant..they should be hiding in brushes on the edge of the fields and flushed when the hunter come too close of them. Also is very stupid when those pheasants can't get in the air when they are in forest..they are just running around like idiots. Rabits and pheasants should hide more so the hunter can't spot them too easily and most of the action is unpredictable

I'd hope for polar bears standing up in WRR now. If we can't shoot them outside of special events, let's at least admire the modelling and animation...

Hey Richard,

Do you ever go through these posts?
One of the devs was saying in a recent post (I don't remember which one) that you guys haven't come up with an idea so some upland birds (Capercaillie) & animals have no ways of sitting in trees.

I posted this last year, with the same thought in mind.

This is a thought for the Devs that may extend animal animation in trees.
Birds landing in Branches/Perches, and animals that climb trees, like squirrels, raccoons, black bears, mountain lion, etc.
an invisible model with collision could be introduced over the trunk of certain tree models so animation could be linked for animals that use trees as their normal path of travel.

When you are ready to harvest a feral hog the arm on the upper side falls through the body, this graphic problem ruins trophy shots. I have not seen this problem with any other animal, it only seems to occur with feral hogs and wild boar. I hope that someone at theHunter will take notice and move the appropriate bone to end this odd positioning of the carcass.

animations I would like to see:

bear: standing up if they notice something is wrong (see, hear or smell), maybe even roaring at you. death moan (black bear).

antlered: rutting (chasing does, protecting their harem, fighting, rubs and scrapes),

hogs: playing in mud

hunting: let the predators hunt.

turkeys: roosting

new hit reactions

also, please move the organs back just a little bit on the deer. double lung on most north American game is that crease just behind the front shoulder. you have the shot placement mechanic setup for African game. n

Wound animations need to be more realistic. In the real world of hunting, big game animals rarely drop in their tracks. They also display a flinch (as ya do) when they are hit. Also if a poorly placed shot catches an animal in a place such as the hip or shoulder, it obviously isn't going to run as fast as it could when it woke up this morning. Poorly placed shots can lead to some seriously nasty scenes you don't want to have anything to do with, especially if you are not a hunter, so of course, things like that should be left out of a friendly game such as this one, but i feel that much progress could be made to add that much more realism to the game.
