It's easier for me with the sky in the background as for the ducks ;)
But the Plinkington works well on the ground...
Well, hunting WT Ptarm with the rifle is more tough than any other ptarm because of that tall grass and the thick bushes. I only can suggest a carefully spotting to the bald mountain edges (if you can find any of those lol) after you heard the cackles and found out the direction of them. You can find some flocks holding to the ground but aware from WT ptarm's spooking distance - you can't approach so close like you can on other ptarmigan species even if you go prone. So i think found the direction of the cackles and spotting on the correct way after, is the best chance for your hunting style that you like to do.
Patience is virtue for hunting
Always perfect shots "on the wing"
If you don't find me flush the roosters you'll find me blast some puddle drakes
Nothing harder than shooting WT Ptarms at dusk!

Thanks for a nice guide. I always thought 12GA is more powerfull, smaller pellets spread and capable of killing bird at longer distance than 20GA.

Yeah if you compare 12ga with 20ga this is true but many players using 20ga models in game have the experience taking that bird slightly farther - some saying it's about the 20ga auto shotgun ballistics and its choked barrel or something. However no one can confirm that so it's all about thoughts & opinions from personal experiences. Mine is that i can take the prey a bit farther indeed but need better aiming - pre aiming.

Glad to hear that the guide still nice

Thank you :)
