Sneakathon Mission Guide

Post by HooCairs »

A little mission guide :)

Mission 1: Sneaky Red Fox
  • Harvest a Red Fox at Bushrangers Run from a maximum distance of 20 meters (approx. 66 ft.) without using a blind, stand or tower.
Approach
  • Start at the eastern Lodge (Copper Hills) and go west.
  • Wind in BRR is going east straight.
  • The only calls you will ever hear there are from red foxes.
  • When you hear a call, call back with the caller on top of a little hump between you and the fox.
  • Lay flat behind the hill and wait. The camo clothes don't matter because the fox will not see you.
  • Blast it with the shotgun and buckshot.
Mission 2: Sneaky Blacktail Deer
  • Harvest a Blacktail Deer in Redfeather Falls from a maximum distance of 20 meters (approx. 66 ft.) without using a blind, stand or tower.
Approach
  • Start as far north as you can in a tent.
  • If you don't have a tent, start at Trapper's Rest and fast travel to the Maskwawikowin River campsite.
  • Calls up there will be from Moose or Blacktails.
  • Wind direction is north-northeast.
  • When you hear a call, call back with the caller and wait behind an object to take cover.
  • Lay flat and wait. Any deer camo clothes (B&C, Army, Doc Monsignor, Trapper) will help.
  • Outback Outfit and Sneaky 3D Summer camo may also help.
  • Blast it with the shotgun and buckshot.
Mission 3: Sneaky Turkey
  • Harvest a Turkey in Settler Creeks from a maximum distance of 20 meters (approx. 66 ft.) without using a blind, stand or tower.
Approach
  • Start at southern lodge (Homestead) and go west. Calls near the lodge will be from Turkeys, Whitetails and Ferals. Elks will also be around but less.
  • You can also start from northern lodge (Highland) and go south. Calls there can be from Elk or Turkeys (WT in rare cases).
  • Wind direction does not matter for Turkeys. They don't smell you.
  • When you hear a call, call back with the caller and wait on a little hump.
  • Lay flat and wait.
  • Outback Outfit, Ghillie Suit and Sneaky 3D Summer camo may help.
  • Blast it with the shotgun and birdshot.
  • Shoot fast before the turkey sees you.
Mission 4: Sneaky Arctic Fox
  • Harvest an Arctic Fox in Whiterime Ridge from a maximum distance of 20 meters (approx. 66 ft.) without using a blind, stand or tower.
Approach
  • Start at the northern Lodge (Danforth's) and go east.
  • Wind direction is north-northeast.
  • Calls will be from Sitka Deer or Arctic Fox.
  • When you hear a call, call back with the caller on top of a hump between you and the fox.
  • Lay flat behind the hill and wait. The camo clothes don't matter because the fox will not see you.
  • Blast it with the shotgun and buckshot.
Mission 5: Sneaky Coyote
  • Harvest a Coyote at Logger's Point from a maximum distance of 20 meters (approx. 66 ft.) without using a blind, stand or tower.
Approach
  • Start at the southern lodge (Field) and go east.
  • Wind direction is north-northeast.
  • Calls near the lodge will be mostly from Mule Deer, Pheasants and Coyotes. WT and Feral Hogs will also call but less.
  • When you hear a call, call back with the caller on top of a hump between you and the Coyote.
  • Lay flat behind the hill and wait.
  • Outback Outfit, Ghillie Suit and Sneaky 3D Summer camo may help.
  • Blast it with the shotgun and buckshot.
General tips
  • Males and females count.
  • Don't use a scope on the shotgun. Animals can trott in from an angle.
  • Listen for the animal to show up and be ready to shoot.
  • Consider bringing a bow to eliminate unwanted calling animals. You may also chase them away.
  • Consider scent eliminator for all species but turkeys.

The strangest thing just occured:

I blasted a Red Fox in Hemmeldal and got a "Sneaky Red Fox Mission Completed" pop-up on my screen.
I thought nothing of it since I have a handful of Red Fox and shotgun related missions still active.
Then when I went to look at the missions, it did not belong in any mission packs.

Intrigued, I went to find answers, but there isn't a "Sneaky Red Fox" mission listed anywhere except the forums, in a post from 2016.

Are these Sneakathon missions actually coded into tHC?
Cool little Easter Egg hidden in the game.

FYI,
It was this Red Fox and expedition.

Yeah once you activate a special event mission, it stays hidden in the game after the event. Only a handful of these where time limited and disappeared for good. Would be neat to still see these active missions.
