The recurve-pic is a bit hard to read.
Is it, from the top,
10
(15)
20
(...)
or
10

Re: Different sights set-up
It is a bit ambiguous, isn't it.
10
(15)
20 - the superimposed crosshair
(25)
I would highly recommend spending some time at the range (I use the rifle range on LP because of the 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 targets) getting used to the sight picture. Since the points of reference are not in line with the target, everyone will shoot it just a bit different.

Thx.
Yup, I think it's time to relearn the bow at one of the ranges. Haven't used it in a while.

Re: Different sights set-up
recurve bow tip at 50m at least for me you can practice but like a whitetail. if you want to hit heart at 50m i zoom down bow and site the animal to where i want to hit it then raise it straight up to the top of its antlers. so if i was shooting a bear i would just think if it had decent size white tail antlers on it.. and bam heart shots can and do happen.. and you will hit at 50m easily doing this at least for me.
and of course you want to broadside these shots to at least make sure you get that lung hit if miss heart.... sometimes you will hit the leg only .. but i just got the bow and went to range for a few minutes and after a couple shots was banging 50m almost every shot. heart and lungs was surprised but the strat worked good.

Re: Different sights set-up
can you do one for LONG range shooting with the x-bow?
And are these ballistic screw ups fixed? I still have no idea how to use my longbow. Took it along for pheasents and missed pretty much every time. 5 shots revealed no hits. How do you aim this bow?

If you do one, I'll update the first post.nosnerb wrote:can you do one for LONG range shooting with the x-bow?
I'm not sure I understand the "ballistic screw ups" you refer to. The ballistics have been changed several times, but the changes in weapon ballistics were just a result of improved ballistic algorithms.nosnerb wrote:And are these ballistic screw ups fixed? Use the longbow chart, and practice at the range until you are comfortable with the distances that you plan to use in the field.
Were you shooting pheasants on the ground, or airborne?

Re: Different sights set-up
So is the longbow still sighted to 10 meters at the little brown mark? I wish tony would make a long range thing for his x-bow. THe pheasents were gorunded
plus I am not sure how to post a picture with different marks and all. I only know how to post a pic from my gallery and that`s about it

No, the site picture for the longbow has changed since it was last updated. The brown mark you are talking about is now 21-22m.
