It used to be pinned for years, that's how it got a quarter million views. But then there were too many pinned topics at some point and they unpinned everything except official info.

I have been successfully using an ad blocker and my wikia page is pretty much ad free. Some stuff at the bottom remains but this does not bother me. This is my view.

In order to achieve this, you can do the following.

Install the add-on "Adblock Plus" - there are many ad blockers with a very similar name, make sure it is the one with this icon:
Image

Chrome
Edit the options and add some filters.
  1. Click ADP icon
  2. Click Options
  3. Click Add own filters
  4. Click Edit list as text

Add the following to the list:

Code: Select all

thehunter.wikia.com##.recirculation-rail.module
thehunter.wikia.com###trc_wrapper_25198
thehunter.wikia.com###trc_wrapper_31802
thehunter.wikia.com##.trc_rbox.ab_thumbnails-rr_abp-mode.trc-content-sponsored
thehunter.wikia.com##.trc_rbox.ab_thumbnails-c_abp-mode.trc-content-sponsored
thehunter.wikia.com##.trc_rbox.thumbnails-h-abp.trc-content-sponsored
||fandom.wikia.com/wp-content/*
Save the list with [Save changes].

Firefox
  1. Click the ABP in the upper right
  2. Click Filter preferences...
  3. Go to the tab Custom filters
  4. Add the same list from above, although here line by line

Hey HooCairs,
Are you still updating these animal maps, where to find the different species? I guess you are ;) But the real question I actually was going to ask was: Do people ask you where to find the big Elks, or the big Moose, or the big this or that, or where to find the top scoring ones, or NT's, rare or super rare animals? What do you say? Do you tell the truth right out in their faces? That all the animals they are looking for can be found in your Lodges, they actually do not need to go for a hunt at all, just enter your Lodges?

the maps arent so important since the serverside changes. as spawns often or have been changed.or can be changed almost instantly where as they were more fixed.ideally now the best thing is just go hunt log yourself where you find species. then if you see a change you know something probably has changed. is it worth updating a map to show spawns if they change? :D

ABP is working great, thanks Hoo. As far as comments from the peanut gallery, you both have been more helpful in the past then your above comments would suggest.

dont make it like that. what i said is true and the whole reason the maps arent updated. because no one knows what spawns where now as it can be changed instantly. think. before posting. or trying to start issues. i only said what is true.can be proven.

the basis of the places is great for avg joe.

hoo has given more than most i respect him more than most people to do with the game. the only issue with species maps is you cant trust the maps for long periods of time. so some are years old and not true of what actually spawns there at various times of the day or hunts. so unless a dev gives that information out which they wont ever you only have the old kinda rough idea images to go from. elk for eg moved around few times in recent times on redfeather. proven.
