Bear Johnson
Hey guys/gals!
Bear Johnson here!
I hate these intro posts, but here it goes:
"Personal" info:
age: mid 50s
I was born and raised in the USA.
I have lived all over the United States (hunting all the way).
I am a redneck (country boy).
I LOVE history, shooting sports, hunting, GUNS in general (BB Guns to Assault Rifles), and gunsmithing.
My favorite firearm calibers are 177, 22, 45, 308, and 12 gauge.
I am a retired gun runner (gun show salesman).
I consider myself a gamer.
My first PC was a Commodore 64 (I have been upgrading ever since).
Hunting experience:
TRIGGER TIME = FUN!
I have been hunting since I was old enough to hold a gun.
Like most youth (raised in rural America), I started off shooting birds with my BB Gun.
I have found that when hunting big game you spend all year prepping, buying tons of guns and gear, and BOOM! your season is over in a single shot.
NOT enough trigger time (IMHO).
I have always preferred hunting small game.
Much, much more trigger time.
But my true love has always been Varmint hunting.
Few rules and regulations.
Target rich environments.
LOTS and LOTS of trigger time!
While living in New Mexico I started a hunting group that eventually became known as The VERMINATORS!
We had all year around weekly hunts. (sometimes two or three hunts a week)
While Jack Rabbits were our main prey, we also took Coyotes, Wild Boar, and Prairie Dogs (to name a few).
Due to the fact that I was a gun runner, our hunting arsenal was varied to say the least.
(that is me... the big guy in the middle)
How I came to find this game:
I was feeling nostalgic about the VERMINATORS.
While searching Jack Rabbit hunting videos I came acrossed a vid for The Hunter: Call of the wild.
Unfortunately my computer does not have the power to play it.
THEN... Dun Dun Duuuuuuuh! I found The Hunter: Classic.
I have never been a fanboy of the hunting game genre (I would rather actually hunt or just play first person shooters for the trigger time).
I have been playing for about a week as a guest. I have explored many reserves and killed quite a few species. I already have alot of trophy pics. I definitely have plans to buy a membership as well as everything available from guns to gear (as my budget allows). I look forward to playing the game ALOT.
Thank you to the devs and the active gaming community for making and continually updating this game.
I will (no doubt) be an active member of this gaming community.
See ya around the forum!
Maybe in a multiplayer hunt near you!
LOL
