I Bought Another Hawken

Post by OldMtnMan »

I was hoping Classic would scratch my itch to go hunting. It hasn't, so i'll be hunting this fall. The Hawken i've used since 1980 weighs 11 lbs. Too much for this old man, so I need to buy a lighter one. Not like the caplock in game but a replica of the real Hawken built and sold to the mountain men of the early 1800's.

I bought this one. It weighs 9lbs. Much better.

Very nice! Good to know you'll be hittin' the hills this fall on a real hunting expedition. Good luck with that Hawken. ;) Respectfully,

Yeah, entertaining movie. Not factual but entertaining. I have all the mountain man movies on DVD. I watch them when i'm in the mood. Which is almost always. :D

As long as I don't end up like Hatchet Jack.

I'll be hunting for bear this year with the new gun. It's the easiest tag to get and the season is a month long. Deer and elk are only 9 days and much harder to get. They use a point system in Colorado and I don't have any points this year. I don't need points to get the bear tag.

I should take the name of Bear Claw from the Jerimiah movie. I hunt griz.

edit...Who am I kidding? I'll be hunting for elk. I know how to get the tag.
