Trail Cam Pics
From a neighbor's trail camera close to our back 40. Check the timestamps, less than 2 minutes apart.

Re: Trail Cam Pics
Very Cool, that bear and cougar must of been up to something !
Thought I'd share some trail cam pics from down under. My apologies for the small size couldn't find out a way to get them to work being any bigger. Ive left the URLs of the larger images if you wish to look at them just copy and paste them into your search engine
A small Sambar Stag waiting for the sun to rise and warm him up on the north facing aspect which the camera is located
A hind on that same location, she was followed by 2 spikes
A Sambar stag who is half decent stag but still has some growing to do but could be a nice stag in a couple years
A random cat which I assume is feral
A narrower stag than the above but a much nice formation, still can get bigger, I am 80% sure I have his castie which was found prior to this. The cast antler is 21inches, obviously he would have got bigger after that
A mother and baby wombat
Fallow Spike
Couple of big Eastern Gray Kangaroos
White Fallow Spike
Sambar Hind
Red Fox
Superb Lyrebird
Surious young Sambar Spike

Its always the big boys who dont like the camera here is a link to a video of really nice trophy sambar stag I captured who I wish was standing a couple metres closer and out of the ti trees.

Re: Trail Cam Pics
Very cool! Thanks for sharing these! That's about as close as I've ever gotten to seeing these animals until one day I visit Australia. How tall would you say that kangaroo is? I'm trying to visualize the size scale of that animal. That big tail kind of creeps me out. I've never seen a tail like that on an animal other than a rat. It's like a huge rat.

Re: Trail Cam Pics
I would say that one in the photo is about 6ft, I have shot one even bigger than that I would estimate almost 7ft. and their grey kangaroos, the Reds get even bigger! To me I've never associated them with a rat, they are much more respectable except if you hit one with the car!!InvisibleFlame9 wrote:Very cool! Thanks for sharing these! Or if one nearly wipes you out on a motorbike. I don't like kangaroos anymore.

Re: Trail Cam Pics
AWESOME! Amazing stuff!
Yeah Reggy, Where the hell is that? Cougar in the UP? I never knew! I knew bear and moose, saw both while snowmobiling a bazillion miles across the UP over maybe 10 years. I saw a lot of wild stuff the most impressive being what I think were Martin's? They could move through trees in ways I can't explain, like magic, and deer walking trails in snow above their heads. How they survive blows my mind up there. Seeing moose tracks on the trails knowing there's a 1 ton animal out there somewhere than will kill you has a way of getting ones mind right in a specific way that's not desirable, yet memorable

Re: Trail Cam Pics
There's a few cougars around. Last year there was one seen on Michigan Tech's campus (the four legged kind). Another was reported across the canal in Hancock. We had just gotten fresh snow so I went out and found the tracks and followed for a ways. Never saw it. The year before I found a set of tracks while out snowshoeing in February. They're definitely around!Radamus wrote:AWESOME! Amazing stuff!

Martens are super cool as well! I shot a bear up here this past Saturday and had one come in to the gut pile while I was right there. He just sat in a tree staring at me from about 15 feet away. Pretty interesting!
