I was curious as well, and looked it up!Nathan112244 wrote: #1- Kansas King ...... 217 NT (not sure how it is considered a non typical)
"Kansas King
217 Typical - 1992
Kansas
These terrific Whitetail sheds which were found by a Kansas rancher are one of the most impressive typical sheds ever found, with main beams averaging 27 6/8 inches and G2s exceeding 14 inches.
"
It says they were sheds, and are Typical, so not sure what's up there. The site has some REAL monsters, too, and neat information on each:
https://whitetailsofnorthamerica.com/
As a sidenote it looks like a lot of mounts out there are casts on other deer heads, which I had no idea about, rather than the "real deal." Wow.

It seems a lot of unlucky hunters & fishermen that can't get a big trophy would rather just admire one they can buy,..
like replicas of world records...and almost any big trophy animal or fish........ and boy oh boy if you could just here their stories how they got it..........

Re: Monster Bucks IRL
I've seen at least a dozen replicas of the Michigan record buck. Although no-one has claimed it as being their own kill.
I'm guessing the 1st buck in the OP is classified/scored as a non-typical because being a shed it can't be scored as a typical???

It's "Tod", with one bloody 'd'!

Awww,,.... the hole in the horn buck, Ohio's number 1 until it was judged and decided a couple beams were typical & non-typical at the same time even though looking atRadamus wrote:Yes you can buy mounts- like a famous one I've seen lots of places called "Ole hole in the horn" I think there's one in every Cabelas
it seems very non-typical. I think it was cheated out of it's rightful place and put in 2nd..........
I think it would be very hard to exactly replicate it with its very non-symmetrical rack without having the help of a computer tracing program.

Re: Monster Bucks IRL
I am not sure, when i zoom in i can almost 100% see it saying a faint " NT " after the score and comparing it to a "T" for typical it looks a lot wider of a blurTod1d wrote:I've seen at least a dozen replicas of the Michigan record buck. Although no-one has claimed it as being their own kill.

Re: Monster Bucks IRL
Here are 2 screenshots from the plaques zoomed in on my phone, first one clearly says "201 #/# T" and 2nd is the Kansas King and looks like it says "217 NT"
