But.... 16 gauges fire smaller shells, how would that work? Was the 16 loaded with a slug or something?
Double barrels usualy have more recoil then semi-auto. Older guns in general have more recoil. I have a 1964 browning auto-five and it kicks like a mule. Yet, it only shoots 2 3/4 inches shells. Any modern shotgun will have less recoil shooting 3 1/2 magnum shells. Also, people today are not used to stronger recoil.

Well, the 16G could be lighter, and thus kick more.

Small game: 22 bolt action Marlin , 22lr/22mag Ruger Single Six
Furbearers: 223 CZ 527 Carbine
Turkey: Rem 870
Big Game: 270 Win Rem 700 BDL, 41 Mag Ruger Blackhawk

For 2012, I am only using my 41 Mag Ruger Blackhawk (6 1/2", iron sights).
My real life tags are: black bear, mule deer buck, cow elk, bull elk, and turkey.

Most used one right now. Looking to score a .223 barrel for it now, it has a neat barrelswitching system. Sauer 202, currently with a .308 barrel. Crowned with a Zeiss Victory Diavari, 3-12x56.
