This is true, every ear/brain has its own preferences.
I dont like bathtub sound and bad or dull soundquality, i prefer listening to music how it was recorded - not tweaked with eq-settings etc.

I'm pretty sure the recording studio has a giant equalizer with a bunch of eq-settings that the producer is tweaking.... :P

Focal Elear is crazy good matches my Audeze LCD-2 Rev 2s. Owned a T1 once it was not bad :)
Yes the producer "hopefully" uses reference speakers/headphones and equalize based on that what it should sound like. Then if you choose to deviate like crazy from that it´s russian roulette if anything makes sense any longer.

T1 first generation was not my taste, second gen is one of the 3 best hps ive heard ..and still affordable. Tested many different hps from low price up to almost unaffordable (for me). Would buy the sr-009 from stax ..but too much money for me at moment. (Cuz would also need another headamp for the stax)
The A2 is a beast, perfect mate for the t1.

If you want to venture into tubes I can recommend the Trafomatic Audio Head One that one goes hot http://www.trafomaticaudio.com/products ... -head-one/
Didn´t have quite enough power for my magneplanars I suppose the Head Two will be better for that but otherwise it´s often nr 1 :)

Iwe had surround but went back to stereo, now I listen only in mono. I hear only half of what people tell me, so I think mono is best for me. I allways hear the sound right in the center, so now I do not get comfused anymore. In real life I talk only in mono, orher people too I´we heard, so mono is the ultimate best state of the art sound, Dolby Master Mono or Dolby True HD Mono is my favorite.

I'm using Logitech G430's with integrated 7.1 SS, and while in the hunter I can't utilize them to their full extent, but in other games, like ArmA 3, they help a lot
