We're not quite there yet, but if you want something that can game and be small look up the Razer Blade. I was about to get that laptop and backed out because I preferred upgrading my pc.
The one that I prefer is around $4.500. So that`s it regarding the Razor.
Here you go.....Acer Predator 21x

(2) GTX 1080's in SLI,
i7-7820HK
120 Hz screen (IPS) w/ Gsync
2,560x1,080 resolution
64GB Ram
(4) speaker (2) subwoofers
Mechanical keyboard uses Cherry MX switches and has an RGB LED under every key

All in a light-weight laptop (economical too)......JUST DO IT !!!!!

$9000 for fixed configuration which will be obsolete in 1 year (correct me if I am wrong). For this kind of money it should be able to allow upgrade of mobo and cpu if necessary.

Overclockers UK have a sale on MSI laptops at the moment, for anyone interested. Not a huge discount on most of them, but up to 15% off on some. They deliver internationally too. I still use them, in Sweden.

See here for more info.

David what do you think if someone decides to use the external monitor - is the performance same as on the built-in display?

For example someone buys this laptop bellow and use external monitor 2560x1440 120hz 27" when at home to have better gaming experience:
MSI GT62VR 6RE (Dominator Pro) 023UK
15.6 FHD IPS 1920x1080
i7-6700HQ
NVIDIA GTX 1070 8Gb GDDR5
256GB SSD
1TB 7200RPM HDD
16GB DDR4

No, the performance won't be the same. The laptop display is 1080p and the proposed external monitor is 1440p. That's almost 78% more pixels.

Thank you for that, I always thought that resolution of external monitor has nothing to do with built-in monitor, you just simply plug-in hdmi cable on the side and change the resolution in settings while built-in display turns off (becomes secondary). 8-)

The resolution of the external monitor does indeed have nothing to do with the built-in display but if you output to the external monitor at a higher resolution, then you put more load on the GPU.

There's also the option to output to two different displays (built-in and external both at different resolutions).

I am thinking about these options because laptops with high resolution and higher refresh rate are much more expensive and with 17" display it is not the experience I would like to have on daily basis except when you are maybe on a trip and you want to play for couple of hours (in that case I wouldn`t mind 1080p for a brief time).

Just one more question - is GTX 1070 in combo with i7 6700HQ capable of performing at 1440p 27" at ultra settings (for example COTW at least 50FPS). Sorry if I am too annoying with these inquiries.
