Definitely not a beast, at one time it was sorta high end, now considered mid-range.

Processor Amd Athlon Black Edition 7750 X2 2.7ghz (o'c to 3.0ghz with Clooler Master fan) I have tried
countless times to try to get this baby to run on 3.2 or 3.3ghz. I have read that people could easily overclock
this processor to 3.4 with no problem. But my computer will do nothing but crash on me (i'm using the AMD overclocking
tool). I think my motherboard is holding me back somehow.

RAM: OCZ 2.00gb 1066hz running dual channel.

Graphics Card: XFX 9800GTX+ (512mb)

Monitor: Asus 19in. 1680x1050 native res

PSU: Corsair 650W 80% efficiency rating with 52A on a single +12rail

And to finish off this average gaming computer i have a cheap $5 key board and a $10 five button mouse . I'm
a really cheap guy

Your motherboard is definitely holding you back, as I have the same CPU. The older 770 chipset won't allow as much overclocking headroom as the newer chipsets. I cannot get any higher than 3GHz either, even with with better cooling than you have and more vcore. The CPU just runs too hot with the 770 chipset.

i believe the first Coolermaster 690 was plain colour inside and the newer version is black inside.

theres loads of reasonable cases with black insides now just make sure you do reviews on them like some of the fractial r2s and other makes have a bitumen smell due to the blacking of the inside and takes along while for it to go away
