The Future. Next Breed Guess.

Post by Raid »

First , I found what the tasty feature was at first place , than i guessed right what breed it was , now i will make the 3rd Guess.
After the Lab I Beleve we will have beagles as the next dog breed in thehunter , seeing the massive desire for it by the community.
They will run a short survey btw soon , what we think of the dog and what breed we want in the future .

I don't really care about the breed so long as it's a tracker. Though beagle might be a good fit.

I'd put money on the beagle. Although some kind of pointer would be a good fit too.
It's "Tod", with one bloody 'd'!

Maybe really a Beagle would be good. Or a Bloodhound.
But when i read here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloodhound
"originally bred for hunting deer and wild boar", sounds good ;-)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AG59PncXxs

Or Bavarian mountain scenthound:
Attention! Dead Deer head(for training with the dog) in this video, not for sensitive persons:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJAMykUFF28

If you don't like to see dead animals, this one would be better:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLttGOG3Npk
^
This dog is only 6 months old(training) !

In this video it's the same dog a little later(maybe 1 year old?), in real hunting situation, again, real hunting ! , not for sensitive persons, cause you see a shot deer in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP5kqLCtyJM

I really like these dogs(Bavarian Mountain Hound), but if we get Beagle it would be ok for me too ;-)

edit:
Ok, one last video of "Bear"(only 9 months old). Again attention! dead animals ! :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1s47MJF-kQ
But nice pictures of the dog "Bear" too :-)

I like the color and the look of these dogs.

So my guess is the "Bavarian Mountain Hound". Ok, more a wish. :)

I love the Idea of the choice between Beagles, Bloodhounds, Harriets and Foxhounds for tracking, letting them go ahead and help locate your quarry then them chasing after it and turning it towards you or cornering it or something like that and not it just pointing you in the right direction. Some of their skills might be how well it stays on the right trail, not getting sidetracked to a different animals path. How well the dog(s) can stay close to you without running off ahead without you. Also how well your dog(s) stay on the animals trail once they get close enough and start howling and running after the fleeing animal. But my guess between the for i've mentioned would be Beagles because they are a popular choice among IRL hunters like myself. But one suggestion in having tracking dogs is that most o the time they work in teams IRL, so having up to four dogs for tracking team in game instead of just one dog like at the moment would make it much more realistic.
