Bug Report
Game Mode: both SP and MP
Description:
If you command your dog to stay or lay down, and then shoot any animal, after a while the dog will stand up and walk around despite you didn't give it any command (e.g come here). This happens with both the retriever and the coonhound; tested this with mainly rifles. It's fairly annoying especially when trying to take down multiple animals because it can either spook them or move in front of you not letting you to shoot.
Steps to Reproduce:
Command your dog to stay or lay down, shoot any animal and wait a bit

I think this may be by design, your dog gets excited when it hears a shot thinking it now has a job to do.
It doesn't do it with silent weapons I don't think.

You are correct. This is by design. The dog comes to you when you shoot a firearm. Since you, um, JUST shot a firearm, it shouldn't cause any spooking issues.Cartoon Head wrote:I think this may be by design, your dog gets excited when it hears a shot thinking it now has a job to do.

Unless you're using firearms like the Plinkington or the air rifle...

I would not agree completely. With a quiet bow, you can take down several animals if the dog doesn't get up and come to you.Hawkeye wrote:You are correct. This is by design. But the dog doesn't come to you when you use a bow. He remains in "stay" position.CAmulieman wrote:I would not agree completely.
