Nope, it cannot be renamed. Once you equip the dog for the first time, you must give it a name and cannot change it later.

Thanks. I haven't named my dog yet, but I did take him hunting. I just clicked beside the name choosing window and it disappeared.
It reappears when you move the dog from the lodge to your inventory. Just a tip for those who think they need to choose a name on the spot, they don't.

As for a name, I shall name him Liquor, so I can tell all my friends:

"Why, I always bring Liquor with me when I go hunting"

That is hilarious! I named mine Blue. No where near as cool a name as yours.

Named my dark male Copper after the pup in "The Fox and the Hound".

One of my favorite movies when I was a kid. "My name's Copper...I'm a hound dog!!!"

Now back to the forums to figure out why he can't find anything. Bless his heart he tries so hard so I still give him treats.

Mines called Snus.. As in danish that is what they are doing when sniffing around, and also it seems to mean something completly different in swedish..

Named my dog to Bong. I'm not a stoner so don't get me wrong. Named him that as a celebration to my buddy who's daughter Lou called her little newborn sister the Bong, a name even the parents used for a while until the could agree for the proper name. It was funny hearing my buddy talk in the phone to his wife while we where on a ski trip together: "how's Lou and the Bong doing, are they having fun?" And so on.

Good Ol' Bow. Bow hit lvl 25 yesterday, got him a red ribbon lol.
