Dog help track animals
It would be nice if the dogs could help track animals, they can do that in real life so it would be nice for gameplay.
Also, any thought about dog owners earning points for their hunter score? That is, train a dog and earn some points? Just a thought.

Re: Dog help track animals
the labrador is a specialized retriever and i they will probably not add any more functionality to this dog breed. i is possible that will will see a tracking breed at one point in the future.stonepilot wrote:It would be nice if the dogs could help track animals, they can do that in real life so it would be nice for gameplay.

I bet that this will be the next dog we will see in future(whenever).Gooseman81 wrote:later there gonna be dedicated tracking dogs for sure
I'm not sure what breed such kind of dog would be. I think some kind of "scent hound": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scent_hound
I still would like such dog:

Or maybe such:

Re: Dog help track animals
Many breeds of dogs have been trained to track certain things, mostly birds and small game of course ... Retrievers (and other such dogs) for birds and small game ... Hounds for foxes, rabbits, coyotes, etc.
But some dogs like Terriers can track a wide variety of small and medium-sized game including large hogs, razorbacks, etc. ... and Beagles can in fact be trained to track deer and elk, especially those that are wounded.

Re: Dog help track animals
a dog which would track animal would make obsolete tracking skill for a player I guess, so I don't see it happening in the future unless they would integrate it in a clever way changing the gameplay.
