I'd be fine with rain.

Not deafening near constant rain however. This is a video game, not real life. The rain makes it unpleasant to play for many people.

But I do agree that this was a rainy time in our history, so the rain *does* make sense.

While the rain drowns out the sound of dinos it works both ways, it allows you to stand up and move normally without being noticed. I have literally walked right past Utahraptors and a T-rex during the heavy downpours. Though I agree they need to tone it back some as to the frequency.

I am not sure, but it seems to me that the rain is quiter in THP than in TH.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I do not mind the rain here and there, but I cannot stand the way it is currently set to rain in Primal. For me anyway, it happens way to often and repeatedly throughout game play... it has gone into the realm of very annoying. I just want them to tone it down some. It rains every single game I play and it is guaranteed it will rain off and on throughout game play, that is way to much. It would be nice to play at times when it's just perfectly sunny all day long too!
